Lucea Oscar creates lighting by design for visual comfort. Its been a great choice for interior designer around the world. They offer beautiful architectural lighting fixtures with enhanced engineering aspects of efficiency, optics and robustness. Their target is to create choice, joy, ease, possibilities, play and desire for: Home, Hospitality, Wellness, Institutions, Office & Retail.

Lucea Oscar Gmbh was incorporated in 1983 by Dr.Wolfram Oscar Froeb in Rehlingen, Germany to offer high quality consultancy to lighting companies for development of new products.

Lucea Oscar wishes to provide its customers with an online product catalog that is easy-to-use, easy to find a product and provide comprehensive details about a product in an organized form.

Lucea Oscar did not have an online presence for their wide range of products. They were relaying on printed product catalog and big team of customer service representative to reach out their targeted customers. This traditional inefficient way proved to be slow moving, costly, and draining for the company’s resources.

To eliminate all these business problems, Lucea Oscar approached us (through our partner network) to design and develop an online product catalog for its global clientele.

The development of such an online catalog presented several challenges, including:

Transforming their printed catalog into an easy to use online catalog
Maintaining the organization structure of their printed catalog so their current customer can easily get used to with online catalog
Various product filters and search
Single product page that provide complete information of a product such as its optics, Wattage, Fixture Wattage, Color Temperature, CRI, Lumens, Applications, Warranty, Mounting, Dimensions, Polar Diagram.
Favorite a product and requesting a quote feature
Expand ability – The catalog website would need to be developed for future growth, allowing further development in a possible eCommerce platform without requiring a redevelopment from scratch.

Lucea Oscar wanted to achieve the following objectives by creating an online catalog for their clients:

Minify use of printed catalog – With no online presence so far, Lucea Oscar was totally dependent on printed version of their catalog. Their prime objective was to minify use of this printed catalog hence minifying the big budget of printing these high quality catalog and their distribution cost.
Attract customers – Attracting more customer and expanding their reach in the global market was their another objective of the project.
Promote sales – Reaching out to a bigger customer base with latest marketing online technology and increasing their sales.
Interactive user experience – customers would be able to find and select product easily for requesting a quote.
Request for quote – Easy request a quote option for each customer.
Accommodate growth – developing an online catalog that can be easily transformed into an eCommerce store with future growth without requiring a re-development from scratch.
Mobile friendliness – increase convenience and versatility.
Eliminating limitations of printed catalog – Printed catalog can not be updated with new information and its a major problem for Lucea Oscar as they keep launching new products and that requires the catalog to be printed again.

Axis Web Art selected magento as a platform for Lucea Oscar’s online product catalog. In order to provide a custom interactive user experience, we designed the user interface from scratch. By using a wide array of technology & design tools, Axis Web Art was able to produce a modern and dynamic solution for Lucea Oscar’s online product catalog dilemma.

Mobile friendly – Online portfolio is fully mobile responsive which seamlessly works across various mobile platforms and screen sizes.

Easy navigation – Navigation to various section of the online catalog is very easy. Customer can easily reach to any product with just two clicks. On any product they got options to navigate to related or recently viewed products.

Search & filters – Finding the right product with ease is the key for an online catalog. Lucea Oscar’s online portfolio includes robust & quick search and filters with various product properties like technology, applications, light color, fixture color, wattage etc. All these option insure that the customer can easily find the product he/she is looking for.

Easy product selection & quote request – Once the customer is able to find the right product, they can easily add the product to their selection/Wishlist. Requesting quote is also a one click process on their Wishlist.

Detail page presents complete information – Lucea Oscar’s products have lots of information associated with them. It includes products applications, mounting, optics angle and optics spread, dimmable properties, wattage, fixture wattage, color temperature , CRI, lumens, dimensions, polar diagram and other variations of the product. They also don’t wanted to hide any information in a tab. Product details page is doing exactly the same, presenting all the information in a nicely organized format.

Robust & easy to use admin panel – As the website is developed with magento, addition of new products, categories, product attributes is very easy. Lucea Oscar can keep their product catalog up to date with ease.

Outcome

By the implementation of online product catalog, Lucea Oscar has successfully transformed its offline printed product catalog into a nice, easy to use, easy to navigate online product catalog
Online catalog allows the company to cut its marketing material cost and find new ways to reach a wider customer base all around the world.
Online product catalog is fully search engine friendly and open up doors of greater opportunities for Lucea Oscar to get search engine traffic and customer from any part of the world. They also have the opportunity to expand its business with multi channel online marketing.
Updating product catalog with new arrival products is absolutely easy for Lucea Oscar from an easy to use administration section.
